MEDIUMSHIP
The term describes a form of communication with spirits. It is exercised in religious beliefs such as, Espiritismo, Spiritualism, Voodoo, Shambala, Umbanda and Spiritism. In Western events of Spiritualism and Spiritism provide the majority of Western media exposure, a plurality of African and African-diasporic traditions contain mediumship as a principal focus of religious exercise. The existence of spirits (the ability of people to communicate with spirits) is not sustained by scientific opinion.
Concept
The term "mediumship" denotes the ability of a person (the medium) to experience contact with spirits of the unknown world, spirits of angels, entities or demons. The responsibility of a medium is to consciously obtain communication with spirits who have messages to contribute with non-mediums.
Mediums posses the power to listen and relate conversations with spirit voices. Develop a trance state and speak without knowledge of what is being delivered. Providing permission to the spirit to control their body and speak through the medium; sending messages from the spirits to whom wishes to contact them with the help of a writing instrument.
Mediumship belief system provides a portion of some New Age groups. Also channeling, pertain to a medium that request receiving messages from a "teaching-spirit".
In some cultures, mediums (or the spirits working with them) request to be able to provide physical paranormal phenomena such as the process reality of spirits, toward objects, or levitating.
